To glue Deck Plywood (Work time – 1 hours + 24 h glue drying time)

cover rails with paper Scotch tape

RETRO FISH TOA 5'6" - TO GLUE BOTTOM PLYWOOD


To Glue Bottom Plywood (Work time – 1 ½ hours + 24 h glue drying time)

Once the fishbone is ready, internal struct. can be glued to the bottom plywood:

_ Lay down frames/Spine on bottom to mark out position on it using pencil

_ Place marked bottom plywood on the ART

_ Lay the polyurethane wood glue between mark lines in way of structure

_ press internal structure on bottom plywood using cross bar

_ wait for 24 h for drying glue time




Glue the frame to the bottom planks using the rocker table

Pressing the skin into the frame


Frame is now attached to the bottom planks

RETRO FISH TOA 5'6" - BOTTOM AND DECK CUT-OUT


Bottom & Deck marine ply cut-out (Work time – 1 hour)

We have cutted a 3mt x 1.5 mt timber frame of 3mm marine plywood.
We’ ll use it for:
Deck
Bottom
Spine (2 x 3mm glued together)
Spine for our next project (3 x 3mm glued together for TOA wave SUP 9')

_ Prepare a nesting(*) of all above components in accordance to the available overall plywood dimension.

_ cut each component using jig saw and paper template
Nesting on available marine plywood

RETRO FISH TOA 5'6" - INTERNAL RAIL REINFORCEMENTS


Internal Rail Reinforcements (Work time – 1 hour + 24 h glue drying time)
Longitudinal internal rail reinforcements are useful for add glue surface on both deck and rails.
_ Test each splint (10 x 10 mm Samba wood) before gluing them,
_ Slip each splint into notches in the frames using polyurethane wood glue
_ Clamp in the right curve & wait for 24 h for drying glue time

RETRO FISH TOA 5'6" - LONGITUDINAL UNDER DECK REINFORCEMENTS


Longitudinal Under Deck Reinforcements (Work time – 1 ½ hours + 24 h glue drying time)

Longitudinal reinforcements shall be foreseen under deck to strengthen structure.

_ Test each splint (10 x 10 mm Samba wood) before gluing them,

_ Place fishbone on ART

_ Slip each splint into notches in the frames using polyurethane wood glue

_ Clamp using ART & wait for 24 h for drying glue time

Ribs and Spine Assembly (Work time – 1 hour + 24 h glue drying time)
The next phase is to glue the frames to spine

_ Before gluing to check each frame\spine interface

_ Slip each rib into notches in the spine using polyurethane wood glue

_ Clamp using ART & wait for 24 h for drying glue time
